so, I failed phenomenally at this three day poem challenege. Three days, and I couldn’t get it together. It’s funny because I swore that the second one was going to be late and now this one is several days late. No excuses, but I just finished like two point five seconds ago so… without further ado here is my last poem for the challenge.

The only lies for which we are truly punished are those we tell ourselves.
In A Free State V.S. Naipaul
I ache when you smile
Cause I no longer bring you joy
I sigh when you laugh
Cause I no longer am the reason
The way your eyes light up
It no longer affects me
When we accidentally touch
My knees aren’t jelly
Butterflies no longer reside in my abdomen
My feelings have dissipated
I care about you no longer
And if I tell myself this enough
If I try hard enough
Maybe I won’t care that one day she will exist
That she…
Brings you joy
That she…
Makes you laugh
That she…
Is that light in your eyes
That she…
Won’t be Me
