This next installment in the Time Quintet involves more of the Murray’s and Calvin’s family. In this one Calvin and Meg are married and Meg is very pregnant. They are all gathered for Thanksgiving: The Murray’s and Mrs. O’Keefe, while Calvin is in London giving a talk.
After dinner the phone rings and it’s the president. He called to inform Mr. Murray of the trouble brewing. Apparently a country called Patagonia had just informed them that they had a nuclear weapon and they were going to launch it. The president called for advice from Mr. Murray since he is the smartest man he knows.
Mrs. O’Keefe has a moment after the phone call where she recites a rune over and over again. It startles half the Murray’s but inspires action in Meg and Charles Wallace. They feel a sense of duty after her recitation.
While the family deliberates on what to do when a dog shows up and distract them. Charles Wallace goes off to clear his head and stumbles upon a unicorn who helps him travel through time.
The unicorn shows Charles Wallace the past and how they reached the critical state the country is in today. With a psychic link to Meg through the dog, I know how this all sounds 🤷🏽♀️, Charles Wallace fights the Echtroi to fix the past and save the future.
